Madhavi Rajmata Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia’s cherished mother, Raje Scindia, passed away today, Wednesday, May 15. She had been receiving treatment for pneumonia and sepsis at Delhi AIIMS for the previous three months, during which she was placed on a ventilator. According to reports, she departed from us quietly at 9:30 p.m., surrounded by her devoted family, at the age of approximately 70. Supporters of the Scindia family are deeply saddened by the news, which has shocked not only Gwalior but the entire country. Let’s now explore the incredible journey taken by this Nepali princess who rose to become the esteemed position of queen mother.

Princess Kiran Rajlakshmi from Nepal has become a part of the Scindia family as their daughter-in-law.

Madhavi Raje’s transformation from a princess of Nepal to the Rajmata of Gwalior was an incredibly amazing journey. Her legacy will always be treasured since she was the cornerstone of the Scindia family.
The Scindia family Chhatri on Katora Tal Road in Gwalior will host the final ceremonies for Rajmata Madhavi Raje Scindia. At the Scindia Palace, where her husband Madhav Rao Scindia’s Chhatri is located, a platform is now being built as part of the preparations.

We grieve the loss of Rajmata Madhavi Raje Scindia, who fought a valiant battle with sickness and passed away on Wednesday, May 15, at 9:30 p.m. In her last moments, her devoted family was by her side. This grief is shared by the whole country, particularly Gwalior and the people who support the Scindia dynasty.

Let us pause to honour her amazing journey, which began with her birth as Princess Kiran Rajlakshmi of Nepal and ended with her marriage to Maharaja Madhav Rao Scindia on May 8, 1966, in Delhi, where she became Madhavi Raje Scindia, the Scindia family’s daughter-in-law.

Scindia handled the family well after the death of her husband Madhav Rao.

Madhavi Raje’s grace and strength were evident even in trying circumstances. Her husband Madhav Rao Scindia died tragically in a plane crash in 2001, and she bravely assumed family responsibilities. She made sure that the Scindia family upheld the customs and principles that had been handed down through the ages, remaining strong and united.
Despite the political climate that surrounded the Scindia family, Madhavi Raje opted out of politics in favour of her family and customs. Her son Jyotiraditya Scindia, who now continues the family legacy, was one of the family members who constantly felt her presence and support.

The funeral will be held under the umbrella of Scindia family.

Rajmata Madhavi Raje Scindia’s last rituals will be a sombre event held in the Scindia family’s Chhatri in Gwalior, where she will be buried next to her devoted husband, Madhav Rao Scindia.
