Election Results 2024 Live: According to the latest figures, the opposition India Block has overturned all pre-poll projections, securing a gain of at least 227 seats. However, despite fierce competition, the ruling NDA led by the BJP is inching close to the 300 mark and currently stands at 295.

Where has the opposition united? Uttar Pradesh proved surprising for the BJP, where the India Group led by Akhilesh Yadav’s SP is leading on 43 seats. Another state where the BJP has lost significant ground is West Bengal, where the TMC has managed to strengthen its position on at least 32 seats.

Maharashtra is another state where the opposition has made significant gains, especially after the BJP’s split with regional stalwarts – Shiv Sena and NCP. Here, the opposition is on 30 seats, while the NDA is trailing behind on only 17 seats.
